Keto: It’s All About Burning Stored Body Fat!

Description: Host Brad Kearns addresses some of the common misconceptions and misinterpretations of the ketogenic diet, instead describing how to do it right and enjoy lasting benefits. This is a syndicated presentation of a Facebook Live event. Join the Keto Reset Facebook Group for more Facebook live events.

Most importantly, Brad relates a message from Dr. Cate Shanahan (author of Deep Nutrition and future podcast guest) that ketone production is triggered by the burning stored body fat, not ingested fat. Dang son, trip out on that revelation, for it will turn lots of the keto hype on its ear! When you eat any meal, or even snack on your keto approved treats, you essentially shut off ketone production. This negates the premise of the bacon and butter diet and the fetishes for high fat coffee in the morning and fat bombs for snacks and treats. This is a little oversimplified, but it’s helpful to reframe your perspective about keto to associated it with fasting, eating in a compressed time window, and eating in caloric deficit if you are looking to lose excess body fat.

We talk about people having difficulty reducing excess body fat and the importance of following the multi-step Keto Reset Diet approach, where you start with 21-Day Metabolism Reset, enter a fine-tuning period, and finally conduct a focused 6-week period of nutritional ketosis. Fun questions come in from the Facebook crowd to keep the show lively.
